What's Happening at Sugarloaf UMC 12-13-10

I hope you were here for last Sunday’s Christmas musical. It was incredible! I hope you will join us for worship this Sunday. My topic will be “I Hate Christmas!” Yes, you heard that right! But please don’t rush to judge me. I think you’ll understand better after the service. Check out these seasonal worship and serving opportunities below!

*New and Very Special Opportunity to Reach Out on Christmas Day:

A group will be going to several extended stay hotels in our area where many displaced families have found themselves due to economic conditions. We will bring and serve Christmas lunch and spend time talking and visiting with these families. We would love to have others join us to help provide and serve meals to these families on Christmas Day. A group of us did this on Thanksgiving and our experience was amazing......we hope to continue that experience on Christmas. The number of people volunteering will determine the number of hotels we will serve. Student Life Information:
From Aaron Young, Director of Student Life Ministry

How are you all doing? We’re just 12 days away from Christmas, so I suppose it’s time to start singing about partridges and pear trees! I’m sure your students are excited about this week being the last week of school before the Christmas break. I know we’re all looking forward to a little break. We’re still going strong through Sunday, so click below to see what’s going on.

This Wednesday night is our final SHIFT of 2010!! We’re wrapping up the year with our annual SHIFT Christmas Party, full of Christmas games, songs and gifts. Students should have signed up last Wednesday night to bring some sort of Christmas treat snack for their small group’s mini-Christmas party. We’ll also be having a gift exchange in our small groups, so students who want to participate in that need to bring a $5 wrapped gift (no gift cards). Again, a good rule of thumb is to pick out something they would personally want themselves. The Christmas Party will run our normal schedule from 6:30-8:15pm.. Big Al’s will be open beforehand selling pizza and other snacks. We’ll also be taking up a special collection tonight for our Compassion kids’ Christmas presents.
